Some places tell their story in quiet whispers.
Stufels, Brixen’s oldest district, is one of them.
Between centuries-old walls, vaulted ceilings, and the rhythm of the city
the Stuveles Apartments came to life – a place for those who don’t simply
stay, but wish to arrive. Our apartments combine
the authenticity of historic architecture with contemporary, high-quality living.

The name as it is used today was first documented in the High Middle Ages as “Stuveles.” According to Schneller, the original term derives from *ad stubulas* (“by the steam baths/heated rooms”) and may refer to structures dating back to Roman times.

A story of origin, transformation, and new beginnings. The city was first mentioned in records as early as 901. For centuries, it served as an ecclesiastical centre and the seat of the prince-bishops – shaped by trade, culture, and craftsmanship. Yet even older than the Baroque façades around the cathedral is Stufels – the original settlement on the sunny side above the Eisack River. Archaeological findings show that people lived here as far back as the Iron Age. Narrow lanes, small craftsmen’s houses, bay windows, and vaulted ceilings still tell the story of this long history. Stufels was never loud – it simply grew. Stone by stone. Generation by generation.

Behind Stuveles Apartments are Sabine and Petra, a mother-and-daughter team whose shared passion for hospitality is reflected in every detail, ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcome.
